Happy new year guy’s (be you red, blue or any other colour)
Sam picked a more attacking line up and it was certainly better to watch, however it only highlighted the lack of quality that we have upfront.
Good to see Bolasie back in the team, he’s been out for over a year but had a good game and caused Utd a few problems down the left before being subbed.
He has been a big miss along with Coleman, Funes Mori, Baines and Barkley, some of the youngsters that have come in have done ok and will undoubtedly become regulars in time.
There’s two or three senior players that may only have a season or two left in them at premiership level so realistically we need to use this season to strengthen and / or bring the kids through.
There’s still a big question mark over some of the summer signings so a lot of work needed.

Should be a good game , as I've said Sam will have you lot organised, I always enjoy these games win lose or draw , love the atmosphere, the tension and of course it's great if we win . Got some business in Liverpool then straight up to the ground .
Any predictions Steed?

Can’t see us scoring from open play, we are lacking any “punch” upfront, so 2 - 0 to you I’m afraid. But it’s a derby, so ......

Since these threads started happening every season, does anybody know on how many occasions that Everton have been above Liverpool ? I know they've not finished above Liverpool since 2004/5 and with a 17 point lead at the midpoint this season that's not going to change.
I'm suspecting that "The GAP" is not a very interesting subject over these last 13 years.

Whilst I have no particular love for either side, I watched live this morning (here), the match between Arsenal and Chelsea. It turned out to be one of the most entertaining games I've seen for a while. Quality, end to end football for the whole of the 94 minutes, with the correct result in the end.
Just be yourself, no one else is better qualified!!

I think it is interesting.
Liverpool 18 points off top Spot and Everton 17 points off 4th spot
Just shows you how far off it is for a Merseyside club to win silverware
Good luck to Liverpool in the cup
1 Man City 22 51 62
2 Man Utd 22 29 47
3 Chelsea 22 25 46
4 Liverpool 22 25 44
The Gap
5 Spurs 22 21 41
6 Arsenal 22 12 39
7 Burnley 22 0 34
8 Leicester 22 2 30
9 Everton 22 -9 27
By the way
Everton have won silverware while playing at Anfield

Dead right, contentious decisions can be debated till the cows come home and long after for that matter, but Liverpool deserved the result overall, speaking as a red, Jagielka for Everton was certainly among the best performances, managed to cut out pass after pass, seemed to be on the end of every loose ball and of course played a part in Everton's counter attack goal.

Jagiellka did play well (bet Everton wished he were 10 years younger). Robertson the LFC left back was excellent too and Van Dilk's performance added that much needed authority and leadership to central defence, I thought he was excellent. Though I'll bet he got sick of yelling at the goalkeeper about his positioning.
