European Parliament endorses upload filters and “link tax”
Link Tax.
Censorship machines (Article 13)
See also this twitter thread with Reda's speech from the debate for more detail on what's wrong with the proposals:
Orwell said "If there is hope, it lies in the proles." Whilst champagne socialists see diversity idealised at university, the common folk experience it first hand in their neighbour hoods.

Yet another reason to get out of this totalitarian organisation as soon as possible. (Mind you, tin eared Theresa probably thinks this is a great EU idea that needs adopting post-Brexit.)

The EU was intended to generate global trade. But its leadership was not satisfied with that role, they wanted to take over control of everything. The UK security, our health agencies, our education, our tax systems, our banking systems etc., When our elected leaders argued against policies that were unfavourable to the UK - the EU ignored them repeatedly. Only THEIR legislation counted. Interference in our internet services has been continuing for some years - many research sites are now unavailable to the general public, and our media sites are now restricted. Out is the only way to go, let's hope that the government keeps its word.
