    Dog poo

Is the increase in dog poo on the streets in churchtown
(flagged up on the other site) due to the increase in dog friendly cafes and pubs ?

Loads in Ainsdale as well at the moment. There seems to be a selfishness and repulsive behaviour epidemic among dog owners throughout the town.

If you're not prepared to clean up after your dog and deposit it's leavings in an appropriate bin then don't have a dog at all.
I'm only happy when it rains....

I would like to see stiff jail sentences (say 5 years min) handed down to the offenders and the dog put down. There is nothing worse then standing in dog crap in the dark. This town is filling up with dog cr@p.

Whilst I ‘ll agree that stepping in dog dirt is very unpleasant, there are far worst things happening in Southport. Five years for a dog owner ? Get a life ! I was on Lord St last night, and , believe me, I wasn’t worried about dog s*** ! I was worried for my personal safety.

Have the dog put down, why blame the poor dog. It is simple, irresponsible dog owners are to blame.

The 'OUTBREAK' of dog poo is probably to do with the recent lack of rain to wash it away.

The wife of a friend of mine was fed up with the amount of dog's mess left outside her property and the path leading to it. She put up polite notices to remind the public to clean up after their dog. The lady also cleaned the area with disinfectant regularly to get rid of the scent dogs leave for other dogs. One day - a woman, who was in a wheel chair, leading a dog saw her cleaning up. Later in the day, that woman placed a notice on Facebook warning other dog walkers that my friends wife was placing dangerous chemicals down to harm dogs. Her, sister - also in a wheel chair supported her (both are very well known in the area for not being the nicest of people) and other animal owners joined in placing derogatory remarks on facebook. My friends wife, then took advantage of the newly formed Police Hate Mail department and informed them of the situation, giving the Police the two women's names and addresses. (easily found)The two women were warned by the Police and hopefully have realised that people will not be bullied by those who deem it their right to ignore the law, to allow dog owners to leave dog filth wherever they choose. If more people stood up against the ignorance instead of turning the other cheek, the streets would be a lot cleaner.
