Could it be the bandstand by the Vincent Hotel ? That was a waste of money moving it to there, because when the cinema used to be there, the noise from the bands playing could be heard inside the auditorium of the cinema.Should move it again,to where the Princess Diana gardens are, then people have areas to sit and listen to any bands that may play music..........................And obviously the council can pay for it to be moved.........................Again.....

It'll be impossible for us to guess as it will no doubt be factually incorrect so you may as well reveal your answer as people are patiently waiting to prove you wrong.

Good idea! The answer is the Merseyside Fire Service's hovercraft.

So what were the 4 times it's been used?
Surely they must use it for training more than once every 2 years?
It was sent to the Somerset floods a few years ago. If it was used every day it was there are you classing that as 1 use?

As I understand it, it was called out on emergencies just four times. The information was given by the Fire Service. It would have been difficult using a hovercraft during flooding as the craft are not easy to control.
The Merseyside Fire Service has a large motorboat, a smaller boat and two jet skis in addition to the hovercraft. No doubt whatever call out these are used for, the local authority requesting the use are billed for the cost.
The raises the question that if the Fire Service duties cross with the Coastguard duties, and if the Police Service crosses with Mountain Rescue, First aid and Fire Service, etc., Why does the UK not have one large combined service? Surely this would be far more efficient?

So it may well have been used for training and non emergencies on other occasions.

I don't believe the local council are billed when an emergency service are called out in their area.
Seems pefectly reasonable for an emergency service in a coastal region with a ruddy great river to have such equipment. Would you prefer there to be more emergencies requiring their use or would you prefer them not to have the equipment?
