Trains are busy, deal with it.
It is not a a minor issue for the disabled person, if somebody abuses the staff or the disabled person that is a criminal offence.

What next, the train is full so through a couple of wheelchair passengers off to enable more passengers to stand?

Nobody has suggested that.
It's first come first served.
If it's full it's full.
Equality not discrimination

You are right, but the area is marked that it is reserved for the disabled. Therefore if it is required for use by the disabled the non disabled occupying the area should be told to move.

So who do you want to kick off, Those in the required space or those that push them towards that space. Either you or your friend need to get a grip. Welcome to the real unperfect world. This feeling of entitlement is what ****** people off. Everyone wants to get home, They/you do not have priority on that wish. Be realistic in your expectations.

The signage states the disabled have priority and by the way the person in the wheelchair is unknown to me.

So is this a rant in a paper?
Look at the logistics of getting the person into that spot. How many people would have to move to get them there. If the train is that busy there must be a couple of dozen people to get passed EVEN if the space was empty. Crowded in with no where to go. Be realistic.
Going to be so annoyed if this is just a rant from reading a new paper article and you have nothing better to do with your time than worry about a random person disabled or not being able to get on an over crowded train.
