    A spade is a Spade

At the peace protest march in London today, there was a speech given by a Sikh. He said "The only stumbling block to extremism in the UK is political correctness! That is calling a spade a spade. Political correctness will be the death of us and people should be standing up against it, it is not just the Politicians"

    Can't argue with that.

When there are terrorist attacks in the UK - people are requested to remain calm and be tolerant, (political correctness) When there is an attack on the Muslims by a British person - there is outrage from all quarters. Now - that does not make sense!

Can you explain what a stumbling block is?

A "stumbling block" is the area inside the cranium of the Person who phoned West Yorkshire Police to complain that the Queen was not wearing a seatbelt whilst being driven to the House of Lords for the State Opening of Parliament in LONDON. Quite what this Tyke expected West Yorkshire Police to do I don't know, perhaps they wanted Sgt Cluff sending round to the Palace on his bike to admonish the unadmonishable.

I agree that the person is a busybody, but of course her daughter-in-law might still be alive if she had taken such precautions.

You are not serious, are you? A stumbing block is that which causes an impediment or obstacle to that which would otherwise be free to move OR there is the biblical meaning where it is a metaphor for behaviour or attitude that leads another to sin or to destructive behaviour.
