1996
My nephew was 21 recently, I put a copy of the paper on the day he was born away to give him on his 21st. Some great deals on pc's , fantastic mobile phone deals , brilliant offer at Pizzaland, no expiry date will they honour it , Liverpool are doing better and no Man City in the Premiership

Norweb - forgot about them. Unbelievable to think what our wages were back then and to see the price of a computer and printer back then compared to how cheap they are nowadays. Thanks for sharing - always interesting look back at stuff like this :-)

Can’t remember what year it was but I got my first PC from a company in Blackburn called Time Computers all I can recall is that it was an eye watering £1049 and had a massive (at the time) 6.4 Gb hard drive.

Circa 1991.
I only remember the times it crashed and Mr Hamble having a melt down until it was fixed.
'Fixing' involved ringing a friendly geek who operated then Mr Hamble
stayed up all night until the crisis was over and recovery certain.
I also remember the sound of silence after turning it off.
It was epic!

6.4Gb hard drive - and remember when we could finally access the internet at home, we couldn't use the phone at the same time and had to wait for it to dial up.

Ha, I just noticed the ad above says 15 minutes of free calls too - that was generous of them eh.

I had forgotten that!
We also had to wait 10 minutes from pressing the start button to ready to use.
