I was there quite innocently looking at the meat balls in Sainsburys and 2 reprobates (scruffy looking people) were next to me sizing up the Sainsburys (taste the difference) beef joints. I then heard a tearing noise and could not believe that they were tearing off the security tags!!!! I then watched them walk out the store with 2 joints of beef each!!!!

And you pointed this out to security??

Yes i did - they said they would check the cctv for the time and see if they knew them - funnily enough the security guard was on a break - they must have known!!!!!

Doute they would have done anything about it, A few weeks back I spotted a chap walking out with several bags of unpaid for goods (long story) I pointed it out the the cashier, who eventually called over the line assistant. Reaction was ' oh well' That was in morrisons. If I hadn't been with my kids I'd have tackled him myself.

i can understand what your saying because all as it does is push the prices up for us innocent purchasers!!!

Sadly, you are probably quite right. I guess the big stores build a certain amount of losses through shoplifting into their financial projections each year. It's bloody annoying for those of us who choose to pay for our shopping though.

I saw a little old lady (looked the perfectly respectable sweet granny) stealing in a department store, she had a big bag which she put on top of things on the counter, put her hand inside the bag and items then 'vanished' into the bag. At first I thought I was imagining it, but no, she continued to do it! I was shocked, couldn't bring myself to look for a security guard until it was too late, she'd gone....I can visualise how they took the beef in Morrisons, hard faced, not caring about anyone seeing them steal....it's hard to believe that it's so easy for thieves to get away with theft but it seems that it is. Having said that, I'd rather they stole from shops than from peoples homes/pockets (sorry shop keepers but it's less traumatic for you even though it eats into your profits).....sadly theft is likely to be a growth industry in this economic climate.

There are plenty of prosecutions of folk stealing from Morrisons, Asda and Sainsburys.

And so there should be, many of us are suffering through hard times at the moment, pay cuts/freezes, job losses and on top of that, prices constantly going up on many household bills.

There is no excuse for stealing, the upsetting thing is that beef probably won't get eaten by the thieves, it will get sold for booze, drugs or tobacco instead which makes the principle of it worse.

For those who are in serious financial trouble and literally can't afford food, ask for bloody help, go to Shoreline on Derby road and explain your situation there or even the soup kitchen (you don't have to be homeless), but please don't steal from the rest of us as like others have said, theft pushes the prices up for the rest of us and then we too end up in the downward spiral!!

Bless you, but these people are not desperate for a solid meal, they are stealing meat to sell for cash and thereafter drugs. They are filth.

I agree, if someone is going to put themselves in a position to have a drug habit, all very well, but it is their responsibility to fund it themselves and not others.

The really sad part of this is the hurt and mental torture this "filth" are doing to their family (That's if they know the truth of what's really going on)

If I ever caught any of my relatives behaving in such a manor, not only would I turn them into the police, but I'd also turn them into the local media and make everyone know who they are.

Fortunately, none of my family do behave in such a manor

I make my own, but not everyone knows how to, I also love making my own burgers although I'm still yet to master Pork and apple without it tasting like rubber

Also, as much as I hate cranberries, for the first time ever, I'm going to attempt a Christmas burger this year using Turkey mince and mixing in a hint of winter spice, cranberry and of course, stuffing served with parsnip mash and Brussels sprouts.

Burgers are extremely popular in the summer, so why not have a go at creating one for the winter

I think this site should have a tab for recipes so we can share ideas with one another.

In fact, if the Turkey burger was a success, it may even be good enough to serve on Christmas day for those looking to save money on "The big meal of the year"
