    A warning for All

Woke up on Thursday morning to find my car had gone off the driveway, went downstairs to call the police and realised that they had been in the house and took phones laptops cameras car keys for both cars etc. They filled my boot and drove off.
If it wasn't for a sharp eyed lady who spotted a suspicious car parked in an underground garage at 7am on Thursday morning I may never have got my stuff back, If your reading this thank you so much (I have asked the police for your details to send personal thanks)
Apparentlythey had ran my car out of diesel and were waiting for cash converters to open to sell my stuff to get fuel... They fell asleep in the car and were woken up by 6 policemen dragging them out by the ear
Anyway it is only property and no one was hurt.
Just thought I would remind everyone to lock the doors and windows at night.

What area is this please? Sorry to hear this happened but on a positive note no one was hurt and you have your things back, so that is infinitely better than how it could have ended up. There was another thread on here about people acting suspiciously in Ainsdale, don't know if you are near there.

You've certainly been a lot more lucky than most others... Glad they were nabbed, especially as police questioning may well reveal what similar or other crimes they've already committed.

    A horrible thing to happen.
I shall certainly stop telling my Border collies to stop reacting anytime someone comes near the house.
The kicked off in the early hours of one morning and disturbed someone in my neighbours garden.
I do lock individual main rooms at night so they cannot be accessed from one to other, but are easy for my family to open in case of fire.

Frankly even if for instance a door had been left unlocked, we all have a right to expect that our home and possessions will be left alone.

OK I know that we have a feral parasitic group out there who will nick anything that's not secured, but it's the thieves who are wrong not the innocent householder.

The only underground garage I can think of in southport is the old royal mail depot in town.

At the last time of looking, Kew estate was the best part of half mile long and consisted of 30-40 roads - 500 or more houses possibly. Thats hardly narrowing it down

So sorry to hear about the incident you endured.

To anyone reading this, please don't leave your keys anywhere near your front door as all it takes is for someone to go through the letterbox with a broom handle and a hook to get the keys and not only clear the house out, but take the car as well.

you are very very lucky that this ended in positive results, otherwise it could have been your months rent/mortgage money and it could have been the start of something worse to come - repossession or homelessness!!!
