Food and drink manufacturers in the North West are invited to join a UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) trade mission to Winter Fancy Food 2014 from 19 – 21 January.

The annual event, held this year in San Francisco, features over 80,000 products and has more than 17,000 attendees, all interested in finding the world’s finest food and drink.

North West food producers will have the chance to meet hundreds of importers, distributors, buyers and purchasing managers at the prestigious event, putting the North West of England firmly on the food industry’s map.

Registration closes on Friday 13 December, so interested applicants are encouraged to sign up now.

Clive Drinkwater, UKTI North West Regional Director, says,

“The North West is a region which punches above its weight when it comes to the food and drink sector.

“As well as having some of the world’s best known brands and manufacturers such as Vimto and Uncle Joe’s Mint Balls, the region is home to many high quality, independent local and regional food companies, from micro-breweries to bakeries.

“From Cheshire cheeses to Lancashire beers, and from Eccles Cakes to Cumbrian fell-bred meats, the region has a food heritage to be proud of, and the Winter Fancy Food show is an opportunity to bring our best tastes to an overseas audience.”

The Fancy Food Show also includes educational seminars, tastings and tours, as well as vital networking opportunities.

Delegates on the UKTI visit will be able to attend a pre-mission webinar ‘Preparing for a successful trade show’, a reception at the British Consulate or outside venue on arrival, and a specialty store and supermarket tour of San Francisco, as well as being able to access leads, advice and in-market support from a UKTI USA trade team.
