    Silver Candlesticks

    Good afternoon John

I am not sure how old these candlesticks are or their value.
    Appreciate your advice.

    Thank you.

    Hi Hable,

They look silver going by what I see as Hall Marks

Silver to day is worth as scrap as 30p per gram

weigh them and that will give you the value as scrap.

You will then have to give me a photo of the the hall mark so I can work out the age.

If made in the last 50 years double to treble the Gram price.

But remember the makers of the candle sticks did clever things, the sticks may have been made hollow and then filled with plaster to make them feel heavy.

    all the best John

    Hi John

The weight is approx 250g each.

They were given to me by an elderly relative some years ago.

    Thank you again.

    Hi Hamble

looks like they were made in London Circa1929

You say you have a pair.

so the silver content of the pair = £75 each a total of £150

as they are antique and obviously 100 years old I would put an insurance value of between £700 and £900

    There is just one problem.

Candle sticks normally have an outer decorative liner, a pan socket, where the candle is placed, like a pediment. Your pair looks like the outer decoration may be missing.

Also remember your weight may include plaster of paris filling.

    all the best

    Hi John
The pan sockets are missing. The candle sticks do not have any POP in
    them.

Thank you so much for the advice.
