    New £5 notes

    Hi John,

I realise that this may fall outside of your area of expertise so apologies in advance if this is the case.

I had read recently that certain of the new £5 notes may be collectable so I checked each one I came across and found one that started with AK47 which was mentioned in the article I read.

I withdrew some money from a cash machine today and received four £5 notes that started with AA, three of these were consecutive.

Would you have any idea whether they have a realistic value above face value and if so, how would I go about finding a collector. I have looked on ebay and wish to avoid that route if possible.

    Thanks,

when ever an new note is issued you hear all the stories about certain serial numbers are valuable.

my advice is take no notice about all the hype.

A five pound note is worth £5

but on the other hand a new £50 coin advertised today in one of the national newspapers will cost you £50 + postage of £3.95.

by the way if you find someone paying (not advertising to sell) more than £5 for a note PLEASE let the posters know.

That ,s odd advice !!! Some of the new £5 notes HAVE sold for way above their face value -i sold a 1900 florin( which was 2 shillings in its day) for £60 so to say a £5 note is only worth £5 is in some cases WRONG !

To day in the Sun News paper a £5 note (one of only 4) is worth £50,000

Come wake up..... A Chinese Vase sold for £53,000,000

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...-just-800.html

    Wake up again

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/news...py-ending.html

    Now £20,000,000

    eventually paid out £1,000,000

Now back the the £5 note.

Do you really think someone is going to give you more than £5 for a new £5 note.

Don't believe what you read in the papers, Did we go to the moon, Did Hitler really die, Was Princess Diana murdered. Elvis still alive.

Got any Bit coins to sell..... worth £800 each

    all the best

    happy new year.

You give the impression you know a lot more about £5 notes than most people, including my self.

    Why you need my help.

A NEW five pound note is worth £5

What some one else asks for a note does not mean it is worth more.

When you have an Ak 150 or an AR15 or V12 or a P45 let me know

    good luck

If you did not ask for help why did you contact me.

EGO, that is something I left behind 52 years ago.

By the way I have just sold an English £1 note for £50 it was a Bradbury note, using your words WORTH £400 to £500. I have in stock a crisp blue £1 note and a crisp green £1 note and a 10/- bob note all in mint condition and framed. I will swap any one of them for four new plastic £5 notes.

    Why you are annoyed
    good luck

oldschoolhouse, I find that the written word can be interpreted in so many ways, a comment that is posted in good faith can be interpreted to mean the opposite.

    Also banter can be misinterpreted.

If you are in Southport why not call in, It would be an honour if you would sign my black book and may be you could tell me the meaning of your interesting poster name.

    All the best
    Happy new year
    John
