This, apparently is a 1922 lithograph from the Chanson De Bilitis portfolio book (1922) by Barbier and F. L. Schmied, which comprised 42 colour designs, 19 of which (including the attached) were full page images.

I know you pointed me in the direction of Bonham's previously but any ideas as to this please? I suspect they will say it's too 'modern.' At 37 x 31 it's too big to trawl around!

The original painting may date back to C1922

but when do you think your print was produced.

There is know way I can tell by a photograph when a print was produced, so it is impossible to value.

If you bring it into the shop it may help.

Bonhams do deal with this sort of stuff, although in this case it was an autographed limited edition of the portfolio rather than one image.

Thanks Nomad, that's very interesting, especially as I have no idea of what I'm dealing with. One of the items I have inherited was a line drawing of a deer that looked as if it had been drawn by a five year old. It's signed and dated, however, and Bonhams are putting it in their auction in September at a reserve of £1,000.
