Anchor Line shipping company poser advertisement
Hi John
I picked up this piece recently , what do you think?
It is a calendar advertisement poster for the year of 1912 (July) to advertise the Anchor Line steamship regular services .
Glasgow - New York -Liverpool - Londonderry
The poster was printed by the P.P Press Liverpool.
Interesting thing , someone must have had it framed and kept it because of the connection to the Titanic.
Looks to have been in the same frame for over 50 years
regards

hi,
looks a great find.
frame may look old but is the print.
the paper uses in 1912 will be brittle by now. Also remember litho is the process used in the 1970's that is the time the repo's were printed. As it is part of a calendar parts of the rest of the calendar months may sill survive attached to the month you have. Use a Magnifying glass to see if you can see little dots. also look for the registration. That is as each time the paper went through the printing process to be inked, yellow, red and blue and black the paper would move leaving a little shadow. Some hints to see if it is a fake,
good luck
