The emergency services were called to Wyke Cop Road Scarisbrick at approximately 2.00pm today after the driver of a Refuse Wagon lost control and ended up in a ditch.
It is not known if anyone was injured in the accident.

I refuse to ask how that happened,as they must use that stretch of road every day,check the drivers mobile phone call list,just to check he was'nt calling or texting anyone on the phone at the time this happened.

I think you should resist the temptation to condemn in this case. It is far more likely that the driver had to avoid an on coming car and put his nearside wheels onto the verge the rest would just slide in.This stretch is always a problem when car drivers continue to progress at speed in the face of vehicles that cannot pull up so quickly

I was coming down New Cut Lane the other day following one of those "safer" female drivers when I saw an oncoming farm vehicle wide enough to be on both sides of the road and started slowing down. You would have expected the "safer" female driver to do the same but no she kept going rounded the bend and then realised what was in front of her. If I an "unsafe" male driver could look past the end of my bonnet WHY couldn't she??
